I travelled with a group of artists to spend a week in the Pilbara and our few days at Cheela Plains were the highlight of our trip. The accommodation was perfect - airconditioned with a cosy bed and fridge - and right next to the shower …
Such a great destination stay. Staff are incredibly friendly, approachable and helpful. The facilities are amazing and well looked after, making the stay that much more comfortable. You are given a brilliant map which details the station and some awesome sites to visit near by. Would highly recommend.
What an absolute privilege to be permitted to share and enjoy this stunning ( massive!) piece of Australia. Staff are all knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, accomodation was great and the 4WD tour around this extensive property was just fantastic!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Ensuite rooms are new clean and the beds are so comfy! Our group of 11 had a divine 2 course meal. 11/10 goes to Kelly who assisted me to access after hours RFDS doctor. Her assistance made a tricky situation seamless.
Very disappointed after booking a night in overflow here. En route we had car troubles and had to stay in Tom Price. Called to cancel as we simply couldn’t get there and was advised of no refund due to timeframe. Now I understand if we had a site locked in and there was a potential loss for the station, however I think given the booking was in overflow, and the issue was out of our control this is a bit rich. A 50% refund given the circumstances would have been fair I reckon.
A fantastic station stay. Great meal selection each night. We had a burger night around the fire with most of the other guests. It was a great way to socialise with different people and they even had veggie burgers!!! Day trip out to Mussel Pool was a highlight, it was so peaceful and swimming in the natural pool amongst the corolla's was really special. Would highly recommend this station stay. Also staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the area,
Stopped on way to Tom Price. $65 booked the dinner as well but only wanted 1 as I don’t eat much. Do this all the time BUT here you have to pay $ 25 to sit at the table!!! Went back late in the afternoon to book for return from TP another $65 but as it was so hot and a/c wasn’t working my dog was really stressed and we decided that we should just head back to the coast. Was on the door step at opening the next morning to ask for a refund. Compassion would say you would just refund as it was all so quick but have been told because not many travellers now they wouldn’t be able to get another booking so they were going to keep my money. RIP OFF and VERY POOR FORM. Won’t be recommending g to anyone
We went to Cheela on a recommendation from friends. Stayed for 2 days and everything the reviews say is true. Staff are so friendly, Maurice is an absolute gem of a bloke. Kelly was the most lovely person in the office, nothing and I mean nothing was too much trouble.
Went out to the gorges and was not disappointed, the “Wall” is amazing.
Campground is clean, showers and toilets are spotless. The grassed area is so safe for children to play, easy for parents to supervise them.
My wife and I are considering applying for a six week host spot we enjoyed the place so much. Just being part of such a friendly team would be so amazing. My advice to anyone considering a visit is do it you will not regret it, a memory for a lifetime. Thank you Cheela you have made our holiday.
